Christmas was celebrated at the Flower of Kent with an American Style Buffet. At the end of the Official Business Pam thanked her team for all of the work they had done during the year by presenting at all of them, their favourite tipple. She thanked Brother Fred Breed for opening up so often and running the bar, Brother Stephen Howden for the tickets, Sister Ann and Brother John McCauley, Sister Linda and Brother Reg Knapp, for all of the help with the catering and collections and Sister Miriam for helping to clear up
As a shock for Pam Magee she was presented with a large card containing many kind words and a beautiful bouquet of flowers, from the Lodge Members paid for by a collection at the last Lodge by the Noble Grand Sister Linda Drakley. She said in the ten years she had done the job this is the first time she had been given anything, which she really appreciated.
This was followed by the offer of a free drink at the bar for all by Brother Jim. All helped themselves to the American Style Buffet. There was a standard Raffle and a special one for those who had brought in a gift for the raffle.
There seem to be no hurry to get away which made it a lovely end to a great evening, at the end the tables and chairs were cleared away.
