Another good night with Mr Chan. Over a hundred were present at the Valentines Dance held at the Flower of Kent. It was nice to see so many friends both from most of the other Lodges and their friends. There was a small confusing on the start time that resulted in the room being almost full by 19:15. Mr Chan by this time had set up and started to play. Unusually, this artist likes to sing and play all night without a break, he even sang when we were eating the Ploughman's followed by individual cakes. Mr Chan played a wide range of music including Nessa Dorma and a medley of instrumentals made famous by the Shadows. The food was prepared by Linda, Pam and Ann, usually Colin is there to lend a hand but is unwell at the moment otherwise he would have helped. We all hope he feels better soon. The Bar staff were Marina and Arthur with Fred helping to collect glasses. Raffle tickets were sold by Brenda helped by Stephen, so many tickets were sold that the first prize was £50 cash. In a brief announcement all were thanked for the work they did and reminded that the next do is The Avalons on Easter Saturday 3rd April 2010. During the evening the Noble Grand of the Flower of Kent took photographs of all who wanted them, these will be posted or given out over the coming days. Finally at the end Bradley took the microphone and thanked Mr Chan. Before leaving some stayed on to clear the room and put away the tables and chairs for which we thank them
Next do of this kind is The Avalons on Saturday 3rd April 2010
