Think it will be Tuesday when I need to eat again. What a spread and such good value. We started with a finger buffet, then Strawberry's and Cream, then two scones with clotted cream and Jam and finally a piece of cake all for £5. There were eighty Oddfellows and Friends including potential new members. The music was supplied by Peter Clarke, there was a Tombola and a Raffle which together raised almost £200 and with the surplus from the event will make a tidy sum for the PGM's Charity SSAFA.
Following the food Peter played a mix of a Ballroom Waltz, Disco and a requested Cha Cha then after the raffle was drawn he moved onto party dances like New York and Macarena. Vera James the PGM made a few announcements and reminded us of the Unity Brass Band Concert next Saturday and the Joy of Words later this month.
Finally Pam thanked her team for all of the work of Colin Magee, Linda and Reg Knapp, Alf Cakebread and Joan Burlington, Linda Drakey and Rita Wetherilt, Val Smethurst and Jackie Lowther and to Fred Breed for running the bar and all the others who had made the event a success. As is the custom many stayed behind and cleared away all of the chairs and tables
