North West Kent Dinner Dance on Saturday 17th September 2011

Eleven members of the St Mary Cray and Dartford District attended the North West Kent Dinner Dance at Dartford Football Club, Princes Park, Dartford. Starting at six fifteen for seven o'clock. There was a nice touch if you handed your ticket in at the bar it entitled you to a free drink. Their generosity extended to having a bottle of Red and a bottle of White Wine an every table, for those not drinking there was also a bottle of Still and Fizzy Water.

The meal started with either Home-made Soup or Hot Mackerel and Salad, followed by a Rond of Beef and Vegetables and for Suite either the Cheeseboard or Apple Pie with Crème Anglicise.

The Dinner Dance was in Honour of the IPPGM Christopher Bellis who made one of the shortest speeches I have ever witnessed stating he had raised over £900 for his charity during his year which gave him a round of applause. Following this there were three presentations two to the two Ladies who had organised the events through his year including one and to Chris from the District.

Chris Till then treated us with an evening of song. In his first session he sang songs made famous by Matt Monro, Dean Martin and the like. In the interval we had the raffle with a number of unusual prizes, we won a ticket to see Dartford play in an game of our choice through the season. This was followed by a game of heads and tails which was for a bottle of Whiskey for the winner, and a half bottle for second which raised £49 for the PGM's charity “Little Buds” which is a baby unit at Darent Hospital. Following this Chris Till sang for the rest of the evening. Many got up to Dance in the really friendly atmosphere.

All ended at 11:30 and Sarah Robinson thanked all for coming, and the night had raised £622 for the Little Buds Charity.
