Easter Party in the Afternoon of Sunday 17th April at The Flower of Kent

The Flower of Kent Lodge room was the setting for the rescheduled Christmas party for the Children. The bad weather had during Christmas caused this party to be held at Easter. For some time there had been a shortage of numbers, so Pam Magee made the decision to open the party to the Adults rather than cancel it.

There was 118 organisers and guests there on the day. Tom arrived to run the disco and shortly after this John Styles, a Children's Entertainer, later he would make Balloon Animals, Close Magic, Puppet show culminating in a Traditional Punch and Judy show which both the Children and the adults loved. Following John Styles Tom played requests with the Disco. There was Party games such as Pass the Parcel, two rounds for the Children and one for the adults who sat on chairs in a circle with the Children in front of them sat on the floor. They played musical chairs and statues which seemed to go on for ages. Sadly we could not take any photographs of the Children but I can assure you 46 turned up and had a lovely time.

Towards the end of the afternoon covers were taken off the food. Being the Children's party they were the first to form a disorderly queue. It was then the adults turn. I have never seen food cleared so quickly. As the afternoons event came to a close the Children lined up for an Easter Egg each. The last thing to do was to draw the raffle of 12 Easter prizes.

The afternoons event finished at about 18:20, many stayed behind to clear the tables. All agreed it had been a lovely afternoon
